explorer and control panel issue

Hi, I have a problem with my M1300 whereby windows explorer stops and
restarts without apparent reason. I have noticed this especially with control
panel, sometimes restarting explorer and not starting control panel. When
control panel does open, the same thing happens everytime when accessing the
fonts option. It has been doing this for about three weeks now and is
becoming very annoying. I have SP2 installed and the MS Anti-Spyware Beta
installed, as well as McAffee Virus scanner. I don't appear to have any
spyware/trojans/viruses when doing a full system scan with both apps. I have
also tried uninstalling both of those but to no avail. I'm not sure if this
is a specific tablet issue but it is seriously affecting my tablet experience
when being used. I use my M1300 in the classroom to wirelessly connect to a
projector and interactive whiteboard and when explorer 'pops off' it becomes
very annoying waiting for it to return. Thanks in advance. John.

Any idea of something which changed in the last three weeks on your system?
Can you use a Restore Point from System Restore to go back to when it was
functioning properly?

Please do not trust the beta software to fix everything. I know for a fact
it is not checking "everything" at this point, and beta software by the
definition itself is unstable. That's why we're always warned not to run
the beta on any production computer where you cannot afford to lose the use
or programs thereon.

Beside getting a "second opinion" on the system, have you looked in
Administrative Tools/Event Viewer under both Application and System listings
in the left panel. You may find either yellow triangles with black
exclamation points or red circles with white X's in them in the right pane.
Those can be right-clicked, with a selection of Properties to see a portion
of any errors.
