Hi,

Can I take this little guy apart and grease it or find out why the fan
makes so much noise? What can I do to stop it? Is the fan part
replaceable?

Mike if responding, change .COM to .NET

It sounds as though the fan's bearing (probably a sleeve bearing) is
wearing.

You might be able to remove the fan from the card, disassemble it, and
somehow get some lithium grease into the bearing, but I think that would be
a short-term fix at best.

I expect that the better option is to replace the fan.

Well yes. All you have to do is repalce the fan with another
compatible fan. The GPU coolers from www.thermaltake.com work really
well if they fit your cooler. Though you may find out that your fan is
standard and find quite a good deal on eBay. I would not reccomend
that you take your fan apart because you may break it thefore staring
your system without it out of bordem and then your GPU is toast,
literraly. If you want a ausome cooling solution you could use the
mother of all GPU coolers. That big-ass zalman one. So order a new
geniric on and then when it arrives crack that dan open and see what
seems to be the problem.
