A Pentium II 233 Deschutes??? To my knowledge, the only P-II 233
processors produced were Klamath core (C0 and C1 steppings), which used
a 0.35 micron process and topped out with the Pentium II 300. If this
is indeed the case, no wonder the system is so unstable running at 350 MHz!
If you can get an S-spec off that CPU, look it up at
http://processorfinder.intel.com . That should tell you what you need
to know.
Now, if this same CPU was working before in your friend's computer at
350 MHz, it could be that the CPU is not getting cooled as well as it
was before. Check that the fans are spinning well, the heatsinks are
free of dust, there is good air circulation in your case, etc. At the
very least, I would make sure the system is working correctly at stock
speeds before overclocking it to 350.
The hard drive only working up to 32 GB is a BIOS issue. There was a
bug in the Award BIOS code that limited the addressable hard drive space
to 32 GB. This bug was eventually fixed by Award, but it was up to
motherboard makers to supply the fixed BIOSes. FIC never released an
updated BIOS for the KA-6100, but some enterprising individuals have
patched BIOSes themselves and put them up on this page:

Please note that BIOSes on this page are completely unofficial, so use
at your own risk. Also be sure to download the BIOS that corresponds to
the revision of your motherboard (1.1 or 1.2).
