I have one of these boards and the FSB can be controlled by the bios.
Has anybody successfully set the bus to 167 and used DDR 2700 RAM?

No. I used to have the same board and when you manually run up the FSB you
also run up the PCI bus which in turn will cause instability, no post, etc.
You can run 2700 ram in this board but it will only be ran at 133/266. Now,
if you have a 333 bus processor, you may try that. thats about the only
thing I never tried. good luck.

pc2700 is DDR333 so is fine for 166 cpu clock speed. You could tr
upping the clock to 175 but I don't think you'll get much further.
What processor is showing in the POST screen?
The default speed on the motherboard is 100MHz(200fsb). The switche
/jumpers need to be set to 166MHz cpu clock (333 fsb)

(added later)

Sorry I was under the impression this was a KT400 chipset board.

If its max fsb is only 266 you need a new board
