Geforce 7300 GT

In my son's PC, a Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz, 1.3 Gb and 160 Gb HD, I put an
almost new Geforce 7300 GT (AGP) 512 Mb videocard. Many graphical
games show annoying stripes and black spots in the
image. Updating with the latest nvidia drivers does not help.
Is the video card defect or perhaps is a weak power supply
(300W) responsible?. Someone an idea?

Open the case while playing to see if it's heat issue.

Also set the card (driver) to run at AGP 4x and disable AGP Fast Write
to see if it would help.
