Generic Batteries for Powerbook 15" G4 Aluminum.

Hi all

I will take a trip to Hawaii this coming may and was thinking of
taking my Powerbook 15" G4 Aluminum will with in. Only thing is that
United Airlines provides no power-ports on our aircraft. I was looking
to buy an extra battery, but the reviews of this items at the Apple
website are less than stellar. Just wondering if anyone has had any
experience will any of the generic batteries that are available.

Not for that model, but I do with a "Dr. Battery" for the 12" G4
Aluminum. It's physically slightly too large, maybe sticking out 1mm.
Not a big deal. The capacity is better than the Apple batteries, and
I've had it for six months or so and it seems to be holding up well.

I'm not convinced it's better or worse. Not like the generic AC
adapters for the G4, which are MUCH better than the Apple-branded ones.
Knowing it isn't going to short out is worth giving up the recharge
ring.
