Graphics problem?

Having some trouble in XP with a couple of graphics-intensive games. At
random times in my gameplay, I get a stop screen with these various error
messages:

--DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

--Beginning dump of physical memory
Dumping physical memory to disk ... 0-100%

--STOP 0x0000008E

--ks.sys
Address F83084BB base at F82F9000
Datestamp 3dee36d2

Regardless of the error message, I get the dumping memory to disk thing,
then when it reaches 100%, the system restarts and is fine, until it happens
again. Is this some kind of video problem?

Gigabyte GA-7NNXP mobo
Athlon XP 2600+
512 DDR RAM
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 AGP8x
etc.

Any suggestions?

Mike

I have this exact same problem, but it is not memory related! I have it due
to a driver conflict between my nvidia card and audigy 2. I keep having to
mess with it, getting fed up.

I get the same error message with a certain game I installed. Tried updating
the driver which helped but it still errored out. Even tried swapping my ATI
card with Nvidia FX card and had the same problem. I removed the game and
all is well now.

Most likely cause if you have a FX card or ATI 9500+ card is underrated
power supply, assuming you have all current drivers and have removed memory
chip(s) with 1 in at a time to verify you don't have bad memory chip. I've
said it before, buy a 400 watt Antec or something at a store like Best Buy,
try it and if it still does it, is very easy to return.

I run a 5900Ultra & AMD 3000 on 230 watts... Plays UT2003 fine... Even
ran through loops with 3Dmark2003

But not on a standard size ATX board.

But it does sound like a heat issue if its during hard gaming.

If its Memory, then it can happen any time during a game.

But it can also be the PSU as well... easily.

(Sorry, hit SEND key on my last post before I finished it)
