Has anyone had a problem with digital recording quality?

I'm using the HDTV tuner board and an ATI 9550 video board and
upgraded to the MMC 9.13 from 9.06. I followed ther removal routin
and did a clean install of MMC 9.13. At the same time I upgraded t
Cat 6 for my 9550 video board

MMC worked fine, but the recorded picture quality was terrible.
don't know how to explain it, but it appeared to be grainy and on
solid color it was digitized in large blocks. Also all th
recordings has at the very top, a white line of interference

One other thing I noticed, was the size of the recorded programs wer
smaller, than those recorded under MMC9.06 by as much as 400,000 KB
even though the quality of the recording was set the same in both.

I was wondering if anyone else might have experienced this and coul
tell me if this was due to MMC or Cat 6

I went back to my former set up and it's been recording great. O
course ATI was of no help. They suggested I upgrade my AGP drivers
but that was of no help. Otherwise they had not heard of it. The
took my information, but that was over a month ago and I've neve
heard back from them
