Hello
A buddy of mine just bought the above system so I went over to install
the Microcrap updates, etc. One big issue I noticed is that on WinXP
(Home) startup there is some background app/service that loads up
almost as soon as you get into Windows and that takes about 1 minute
before it allows you to run anything else on the system.
I checked with taskbar to see if I could figure out what it was
(thought it was alg.exe) but could not figure it out. In the startup
sequence it gets through loading the Volume icon and Yahoo pager icon
in the system tray but then it hangs with whatever it is loading for a
minute before getting to Norton Anti-virus. I know it's not Norton
cause I deleted it from the system and tried with the same result.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue or have any possible
solutions?
