Help needed with sound issue on inspiron 6400

anyone have help on:

when i select an audio file, there is a lag before the file starts
working?

my pc is an inspiron 6400 as mentioned and is running vista home
premium

the ram is 2.5 G, the rest is standard.

any help?

Could be a lot of things. Boot the system to desktop and press CTL+ALT+DEL,
then select "view/open task list".

In the lower left-hand corner of that dialogue box, how many processes are
indicated?

Also, do you have Yahoo! Music Match Jukebox installed by any chance?
