Help! Officejet 710 Multi-Function - System Error 3200

Unit was working fine until yesterday ... I have a system error 3200 in
the display. The HP website indicates this is a modem problem. I
removed the modem unit from the back and the connctors seem okay. HP
indicates that to reformat the unit you hold down the 2 and 3 buttons
while plugging in the AC cord. The display should read "reformatting"
but it displays nothing.

Any suggestions?
