Omnibook 900 has XP pro installed but only recognizes the floppy "A". HP
compatibility list show both floppy and CD drives are supported with
installed drivers. Well not this one guys. Any support is greatly
appreciated.

Try booting from your recovery cd set.
(put in disk1 of your recovery cd's - tap the esc key at the omnibook
logo - choose cdrom and let it boot)

If it does, then you are having the problem within windows. If you
cannot boot from cd, you will probably need a replacment drive.

Great...
Thanks for the assist. I don't have the "recovery cd" but found it on
an FTP site. I'll burn it to disk and give it a whirl in the Omnibook. I
know somehow this thing will work.
Before your note today I was all prepaired to follow HP's directions to
flash the bios and use a highly technical paperclip to reset the machine.
Then use the bootable WinXP disk to do a clean install.
