Hi I was trying to start up on the old system Mac OS 9.2 I think, I
restarted the Mac and it just shows up a question mark, so I tried to
start up the Mac on its new system 10.3.9 by pressing the X down when I
tern it on but doesn't work just still goes to the question mark so I
then try another option by prising the option key down will it starts
up but only shows up one drive and it says it the Mac OS 9.2??????????

HELP!

I only have one partition for both Mac OS X 10.3.9 and Mac OS 9.2.

Could I use Norton disk doctor that is made for Mac OS X 10.2.0 and
some how change the start up system to Mac OS X 10.3.9

Or use the system restore disks some how or one of the other disks that
come with a iMac

Could I use the "open Firmware screen" (apple key+option+O+F) to
change the start up system?

The apple key and S doesn't work

And would a old Mac start up Floppy disk be able to change start up
system??

I really do not want to reinstall the whole system and lose of all my
stuff.

Please if you have, any idea of what I can do to put the Mac bat to the
10.3.9 system put a post or you can email me at

Thanks Adriel.

Adriel-

Do you have a OS X installation disk that will boot in your computer? You
hold down the "C" key when booting, and it should go to the CD.

As I recall, one of the menu items at the top of the installation screen,
gives you the option to select a startup disk. It should show you all the
valid choices. If your's isn't there, it may be damaged.
