HP 2500 Color "imaging drum"

Tech support tells me I need one, judging from indicator light.
Is there a way to fix it, rather than replace it?

They're a consumable item in much the same way as a toner cartridge.
The one I think you're thinking of (for the Laserjet 2500) contains
the print roller and a surplus toner drum which will fill up over
time.

What you've got isn't a fault, you need a new one.
