HP Kayak XU ATX power supply conversion

I think there is a good chance that it is possible to convert a
standard ATX PSU for use with a Kayak XU or XA requiring
an HP 0950-3212 (Delta DPS-260EB) or HP 0950-2893 (NMB SPW1555).

The Kayak supply uses a 24 pin Molex 39-01-2240 connector drawn here:

The connectors are identical, but the pin outs are not. This
table shows the correspondence (used fixed font to view):

I would consider getting an ATX to BTX adapter (either 24 pin to
24 pin, or 20 pin to 24 pin, depending on the PSU), and re-ordering
the pins by exchanging the pins on one end of the adapter.


Difficulties:

I don't know what Low Power means, but I guess that it is
used by the power saving feature on the system board to
place the PSU into a low power mode (like the Sleep signal
on the WTX supplies). Assuming so, it is ok to leave this
N/C because the BTX PSU has no corresponding mode.

There is no -5 VDC on a BTX or modern ATX12V PSU. There
are two alternatives. One option is to leave -5 VDC N/C so that
the Kayak has no -5 Volt supply. I believe that the -5 VDC
is only used for the ISA bus <http://pinouts.ru/Slots/
ISA_pinout.shtml>
and if you do not have any ISA peripherals, this might be ok.

The other option is to find an ATX PSU instead. Pin 18 on an
ATX v1 (20 pin connector), or pin 20 on an ATX v2 (24 pin connector)
will have -5 VDC.

Note that the modern ATX12V (24 pin connector) does _not_ have
-5 VDC line.
