HP Laserjet 1000/1200, low toner message???

HP Laserjet 1000's and 1200's do not have LCD screens, as these are
host-based printers. Obviously you won't ever see a "toner low" or
"order cartridge" message like you'd see on the LCDs of other HP
Laserjet printers.

Does anyone know if you get an indication on your computer screen when
the toner is running low? Thanks.

All status messages from these printers are reported back to the
connected PC by the HP software..including paper jams, toner low
etc...
