Hi all!

I have a Netserver LS and several Netserver LDpro. For a hdd upgrade I
want use some Wuantum Altas III 9,1 GB HDDs. The Netserver will not
see them. The green LED at the disc module is blinking slowly. What
does it tell me? The diagnostic tool will not find the disc, too.

The Quantum discs are SCA. The Netserver will have SCA2. Is that the
problem??

Thanks for any idea!

How are the hard drives attached to the system? Using a SCSI RAID card? Or
directly to a connector on the motherboard? Possibly via a basic SCSI host
adapter? Are the SCSI IDs of the drives you are adding unique for the SCSI bus
to which they are being attached? Are the drives known to be good, based on
previous use?

There are no immediate answers here, just questions for you to answer and
possibly solve the problem yourself or to give us more information to help
out... Ben Myers

Hi Ben!

Thank you for your quenstions...;-)

The discs are installes in the system own drive bays (SCA backplane)
at the on board Adaptec 7880. The ID is not configurable. It is given
by the system in case of position of the disc in the SCA backplane.
The CD-ROM on the same bus is located w/o any problem. At another
system the system disc and the CD-ROM were locaten, the additional
disc not.

I can not test the discs in an other system. But I got a lot of six.
And I think all six can not be dead...

I will put the discs in three other Netserver LDpro to test them. But
I fear...

Thanks!
Marcus

Now I have further news. The server shows the error code C1C1. But I
have no Navigator CD to get information about this code.
