Hi.
I own a hp pavilion 564a with the imperial_gl_ve motherboard and just
recently i upgraded the bios to the latest version from the hp website (the
proper bios, flash was successful).
Since doing this I am now warned about the cpu fan having failed every time
I boot up and I need to press F2 each time otherwise the computer will turn
itself off after 5 seconds. This is getting rather annoying so I opened up
the case and found that the fan was working perfectly. However, it was
plugged into the "case fan socket" and the fan itself isn't attached
directly to the heatsink but uses a fan duct to cool the cpu heatsink down.
Anyway, so I moved the fan connection to the CPU one but this has made no
difference to the error.
I have visually had a check of all the capacitors on the motherboard and
they all look great. Flat tops, nice and round (not bulging), no burn marks
and no leaks of any kind.
My question is: Is there some way to revert back to the bios I was running
(eg, downloadable anywhere?) or is there a way to turn off this warning? I
don't care which as long as I can get rid of this stupid error message!
Any help please (I have searched the 'net for hours)!
