The MX70 is a regular everyday monitor, not an LCD, right? It sounds like it is
dead, but just to be sure that it is not the computer having problems, attach
either monitor or computer to a known good device and see what happens.
If the monitor has died, simply replace it. Nobody, I mean nobody, repairs
monitors any more, except for maybe the most simple mechanical repairs.
A good quality replacement used 17" monitor in good condition is a $US 40 to $US
50 item these days... Ben Myers
