hp pavillion zx5000 dvd burner

Good evening. I am not sure exactly how this happened but the cd/dvd
player/burner on my hp pavillion zx5000 is no longer recognizing the
discs that are inserted. I am really not sure if it is the burner or
the computer though I am fairly sure it is a hardware issue.

Is there any way to purchase just a new burner and replace it myself
in the laptop without having to send it away?
