This is off topic but if someone has jumper & dip switch settings for this
card. I would really like to have those too.

A response would be more likely if you specify the
HP product number of the card, or if not known, any
and all 4x4 or 5x5 part numbers that appear on it.

PSI?
Programmable Serial Interface?
Parallel SCSI Interface?

In addition to any manual that might have been provided
with the card originally, the switch/jumper settings for
many Vectra cards and internal peripherals were covered
in a series of HP Vectra Accessory Service Handbooks.

Hi,

This is Programmable serial interface. Found in this system:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Rotun...iveQ5fServices

This system is built on HP Vectra 386 with 16mb ram and 300MB ESDI HD. OS/2
Warp on top of this. Unit uses PSI card for measurements so it is key
component. I upgraded to pentium pro because I wanted to use SCSI HD and
PS/2 keyboard and mouse(ESDI HD had bad sectors and keyboard was not
working). Upgrade is now working but only if I disable all Caches from BIOS.
Otherwise OS/2 driver can't get response from PSI card. Now I would like to
know if there is a way to get this card working with caches enabled(more
speed).

From what you describe, the PSI card would appear to have software that
is very much dependent on instruction timings, else it would work OK
with a faster Pentium Pro processor and cache enabled.

I would speculate that the only way to get the card running faster is to
obtain the source code for the driver or program that uses it, analyze
the source code, and rewrite without timing loops... Ben Myers

Hi,

It has both 25 and 9 pind D. But 9 pin is in use. There is a Zilog
Z80 processor + 2 eeproms on PSI card.

Driver is PSIOS2DR.SYS says PSI driver revision 4.3. No switches
currently but possible are /IRQ: /IO:

I have tried enabling only processor cache.

On the other end of PSI cable there is a similar PSI card +
motherboard with 286 / 4 megs of ram. Also HP instrumentation card
5062-6803 + HMC and LMC cards. I seem to have a problem with
instrumentation card also since measurement unit seems to fail Analog
bios test.

It seems this is a Vectra RS/25 unit with some accessory cards. Also covers
are stripped off (front and sides). So if someone has HP accessory manual
5061-8983 it might describe PSI card also.
