My PC is a desktop machine running Windows XP SP2. The video card is
made by ATI and has 256MB of video RAM. The latest display driver is
installed. I recently bought the HP w2007 monitor, using a DVI connection.
The monitor is using the "Photo" Quick View, with the Brightness and
Contrast settings reduced a few points.
Three of my screensavers are Serenescreen's Marine Aquarium's, and
LifeGlobe's Goldfish and Sharks. These are high quality screensavers. I've
had them for about 3 years, and have used them on several monitors, LCD and
CRT.
However, with the HP w2007 monitor, I have noticed faint lines in the
background when the screensaver is running, especially with the Marine
Aquarium. I've never seen that before. Any ideas why I would be seeing
these faint lines? It was never an issue with other monitors I've had. I
also notice faint lines in the background if I visit a site like
www.barnesnoble.com. The green background is where I notice it.
If I switch the monitor to "Text" view, the problems I described above
are gone. However, I don't like "Text" view because colors are much too
faded.
