Hello. I am considering the HP w2007 monitor. Got a couple of
questions. This monitor has several different modes you can select from.
95% of my computer use is surfing the Internet, typing an occasional Word
document, browsing newsgroups, sending and receiving emails. Which mode is
best suited for that? Secondly, what is the default mode for the w2007
monitor?

I have a w1907. It has 4 different modes: Movie, Photo, Gaming, and
Text, plus a customizable mode. Any can be set as the default. It is
an excellent monitor - clear and sharp.

What mode do you use for Internet browsing?

I have used the software to set a customzed mode that I prefer. It is
similar to Text mode, but with a "whiter" white.

What about glare from the w1907's glossy screen? Has that ever been a
problem for you, especially in a brightly lit room? That is one of the few
complaints I've read from customers about the w2007 monitor.

I suppose the gloss is a little more than some, but not noticable in
my environment.

I received the w2007 a few days ago, using a DVI connection. The
default mode when I turned it on was "text." That is what I am using now,
even though I have experimented with other modes and lowered the brightness
and contrast settings. My only gripe about the "text" mode is that colors
are a bit faded. However, if I use a brighter mode, I notice that the
background of some websites have faint lines in them, such as www.bn.com I
also notice these same lines with my Marine Aquarium screen saver.

I briefly installed the My Display software that came with the CD-ROM,
but uninstalled it shortly thereafter after I determined it had no features
I could not access manually thru the monitor buttons.
