If you are able to monitor the quality and stop the printer when the quality
deteriorates then why not continue to print with a low cartridge?
Shaking may help but will not change the "reported" amount of toner left.
The toner out condition is posted by the chip on the cartridge and is based on
a calculation of toner used. There is no actual sensor on the 4250 cartridge.
Because of the variation in toner used per page the calculation can be a little
inaccurate and HP don't want people complaining that they failed to get the
page yield (at 5%) that HP promises so it is likely that the toner out message
will be a little early in most cases.
