I have been asked to setup two evaluation SQL 2005 server farms using
Windows 2003 and Longhorn to do a side by side performance evaluation
with our in house application.

OK so far.

I have been given a stack of IBM 342 and 350 servers loaded with 15K
scsi drives and a small budget to accomplish this task.

Small problem: SQL 2005, LongHorn = 64bit processor. IBM server =
32bit processor. Hmmm....?????

Are the IBM 342 and 350 servers a standard motherboard size / form
factor? I have been given permission to purchase new outfitted
motherboards if I can find some that will fit. ATX???? ITX???? Any
one have a clue????? Yeah, I know I could pick up new server cases
and power supplies with scsi racks for about $1K each but multiply by
10 servers and it adds up to a lot of beer money!

Thanks!
