I briefly owned the HP w2007 monitor. For various reasons, it has since
been returned.
While the monitor was in my possession, it was connected using a DVI
cable to my Dell desktop PC which is running Windows XP Home SP2. The
latest video driver is installed.
Upon every boot up in the morning, I would see a small window (for
about 3 seconds) on the monitor screen. It would say...."Recommended
settings: 1680x1050 at 60 Hertz." Then underneath "Current settings:
1680x1050 at 75 Hertz."
Part of that info was incorrect. My monitor settings were, and have
always been at 60 Hertz. In fact, there was no option in XP's Display
settings to change the screen refresh rate to anything else. Once the
computer finished booting up, I would open the monitor's OSD, scroll down to
information, and it would correctly report the resolution: 1680x1050 at 60
Hertz.
Any ideas why the monitor would report incorrect hertz data at boot up?
Is this a common glitch with HP monitors?
