The power adapter for my wife's Inspiron 1525 laptop died and I started
looking for a replacement. Dell gets $80 for a new one and $33 for a refurb.
There are lots of aftermarket adapters on eBay ,but I've heard in the past
that they aren't always 100% compatible with the laptop. Looking for advice
from those with experience. Thanks.

Yes, it is a PA-12. There is 115V AC in, but 0V DC out and the LED on the
adapter does not come on. I might tear it apart just for fun, but need to
get the wife's laptop operational first. My other Dell laptop uses an
adapter with a different connector, so that doesn't help.

I found this:

Anyone have experience with this seller?

No sir. I note that they are only offering 6 mos warranty on that item
(check their general warranty page). Standard ship is about $9.

The vendor and site appear credible enough.

I easily found ebay sellers (w/good feedback) offering brand new PA-12's w/1
year warranty - fwiw - at 19.99 + 9.99 ship.

Also, FWIW, make sure the adapter is listed as compatible with your Dell
model number if you don't go the OEM route. There is a little nub in the
middle of the plug, with will power the laptop without that, but won't
charge a battery.
