OK. I give up. Pressing the Fn-F8 button does not switch to a monitor
attached to the CRT port.

I've made sure Adobe font manager is not installed, re-installed all
the latest Dell site Mobility 9000 drivers and verified the CRT works
on other computers just fine.

The LCD display is functioning normally.

I've gone into the display properties and dragged the 2nd monitor over
the 1st and extended the display, but nothing seems to actually
activate the display on the CRT port It's acting like either the CRT
port is actually dead or the software switch isn't working.

Running Windows XP Home/SP2 will all fixes up to date.

If anyone has a fix to this problem, I'd appreciate it.

Paul

This is probably obvious, but the monitor was connected and turned on BEFORE
you booted the computer?

Good question. Yes. The monitor is connected and the machine then
cold booted.

One thing I've just noticed is that when I'm in the Device Manager,
there's never a secondary video processor shown, just the one Mobility
Radeon 9000. Should a secondary video processor be visible?
