Inspiron 8600 Touchpad Sensitivity

I have a relatively new Inspiron 8600, and have reset the sensitivity on the
touchpad a time or two, but for some reason it doesn't seem to keep the
settings, so that it reverts to the old settings, where the pad is very
sensitive to touch, and things that I did not want to do it does. Am I
doing something wrong, or is that just the touchpad?
