How to install R41703 driver?

I have a Dell OptiPlex with a 3C920 network card and Win 98 SE. I have
recently re-installed Windows. I have installed the sound and video
drivers, but does not know how to install the network card driver. If I
click on the R41703.exe file on C:\dell, I see a welcome screen and
then a screen that asks me what folder I want to unzip the files to. I
choose C:\dell\drivers\R41703, and there are many files in the folder.
If I click on the "Install" file, I see a DOS-like screen with many
options and help files, but then what should I choose? I don´t know
how to successfully install the driver for 3Com 3C920 network card.

I need some help.

Is there a SETUP.EXE program? Which model of Optiplex? ... Ben Myers

on the page on dell.com where you downloaded the file are detailed
instructions on how to install it in windows 98...
perhaps you missed it as you have to scroll down to see it...

You install it via the device manager.

Winkey+pause->device manager

Select the ethernet controller (yellow question mark), chose to install
from where the files are located.

If that doesn't work, the driver is available from 3com as well. Same
driver that's used for the 3c905 series of cards. (practically the most
common Ethernet card in all existence.. at least in that generation.)
