HI ..
Just DLed the newest driver for my new printer. HP psc 2210. Hopefully
that will help me with some of my printing problems.. I did learn online
from the HP URL that the 2210 doesn't print right using "Best" mode in
your printing. You have to print from the 'thumbnail' but this is what I
need help with....
I DLed:
rw2_021_w02_enu.exe 174,202,189 bytes !
I've already got the printer setup and installed it using the CDROM that
came with it (and included the original drivers)..I'm reading the
instructions online and it says to *uninstall* what I already have ..
Can someone Please walk me thru the process? ? ? I don't know exactly
how to go about this and don't want to mess up the whole setup ! ..
MANY, Many THANKS !

thank you for your reply !
I need to ask you for a step by step on this ..I'm just too scared I'm going to mess my printer up *more* ..
Got your advice re:Uninstalling the previous drivers.. let me ask you.. Uninstall with Printer totally disconnected .. USB port and Power ? ...
after uninstalling with Printer totally off..Then how do I install the driver ?? I've got it in a temp file and do I install the new driver with the
printer off or on ?
gosh..I feel stupid ! I've installed a LOT of drivers and this is the first time I've run into one that I am so careful of.. just had a
lot of problems with this model.
thanks for your patience !

I think you can just follow the instructions for the uninstall. It should
ask you to unplug the USB cable from the printer. You can do this before
you begin the uninstall if you like. Once the USB cable is unplugged from
the printer, it doesn't matter if the printer is on or off since the
computer isn't connected to it.
After you have uninstalled the driver, you can begin the reinstall process.
Don't plug the USB cable into the printer until the software asks you to.
Double click on the new driver that you downloaded from the web. It may ask
you for a location to 'unzip' the files. I like to use the temp folder on
the c: driver. You can type in "C:\temp\2210driver" and the files will be
unzipped into this folder. Once the files are unzipped, go to the folder
where they were saved, and double click on the .exe file. This will start
the driver install.
let me know if you have any other questions. good luck!

OH THANK YOU
that's exactly what I needed to know !
I've had a lot of printers and this one is about the most difficult I've ever
tried to use. I guess considering all the stuff it is *supposed* to do ..it's to
be expected.
and again.. Thanx from TX !

Hey April..
hope you get this pretty quickly.. Think I need an uninstaller program for the
'old' HP2210 drivers. I used the uninstall.exe within my 'old' driver. Well,
when I clicked on the new driver rw2_021_w02_enu.exe 166MB. It did OK but keeps
telling me there is an old VER on my PC and to refer back to my CD install disk.
I've uninstalled 2 times and keep getting the same error.
help ? ? ? ? do you have the name of those uninstall programs I saw on
this NG ?
many thanks ..
