She:kon/Greetings

I have an Intel DG965WH and Vista 32. I'm trying to install the latest
sound drivers but get a message that they're not for this machine.
I downloaded them right from the Intel DG965WH drivers site.
I've tried uninstalling the old drivers first but no go. Does anyone
have a solution to this problem?

Thanks!

Which audio drivers are you trying to install?

I had no problem installing

AUD_allOS_5762x_5713.1v_PV_IDTGUI_v53.exe

announced 01/30/2008 on my DG965WH on Vista 32.

Today, Intel announced

AUD_allVista_5713.1_PV_IDT_v22_IAS.exe

which is the same driver version, but includes the Intel Audio Studio,
which has given me minor problems in the past. I haven't tried installing
this one on Vista 32, but given my problems with it in the past, and that I
don't really need the IAS, I probably won't bother.

Make sure you have the current BIOS (1719) installed. Uninstall
whatever audio driver packages you can, reboot, and then
go into Device Manager and uninstall the audio device for the
Intel onboard audio (I'm not at that machine right now, so I can't
tell you exactly what it's called). Choose the option to delete the driver
if it's offered. Then you can choose the option to re-detect new
hardware and let it install using the standard Vista drivers. You can
then reboot and try to install the Intel audio drivers again.

Thanks for the reply.

Today (2/28/08) Intel put up *another* version! I wonder if it had
anything to do with people unable to install the previous version.

I found the solution! Deleting the folder

C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional

worked for me.
