Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck getting the Linksys WCF12
CompactFlash WiFi card to work under Pocket PC 2003 on the HP Ipaq h2215.

The latest drivers (ver. 1.07.30) appear to install successully (no errors)
and appear to load, but then I try to run the Linksys WLAN Manager that came
with the card, nothing happens and the OS can't detect the card.

I emailed Linksys tech support, but they say the WCF12 card "may or may" not
work with the Ipaq 2215 and that there is no scheduled release for PPC 2003
drivers.

I think the WCF12 chipset is Prism2 and I've tried a couple distros of the
Prism2 drivers that were made for other cards, but haven't had any luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, -Scott

I actually installed the drivers from this site
http://www.senao.com/service%20&%20...%20download.htm

and it worked (w/ WEP and SSID). The trick is that the previous post
stated that you should install "WLAN_ForWinCE300.exe". This is the
wrong driver for PPC 2003. You should actually install
"WLAN_ForWinCE400.zip". This is the driver for PPC 2003 and it works
w/ the native wireless tools that come w/ PPC 2003. It also uses WEP
w/ out an issue. I've used it at home w/ my linksys router and in my
office w/ the compaq router (that uses 128-bit encryption) w/ success.
I hope this helps everyone out.

Do not try to use the WLANSTA.EXE app w/ the 400. Instead use the
native tool that comes w/ PPC 2003. This is what you do:
go to start, settings, connections tab, connections, advanced tab,
network card.

In the Wireless networks box you should see the wireless network. If
you don't see it select add new settings enter the network name
(SSID). Then select the authentication tab andselect data encryption
and uncheck "the key is provided for me automatcally then enter the
key. Make sure you hit OK twice to save your settings. Let me know how
this works out for you.
