Not happy to hear this, Tom. OTOH, isn't the AI7 using a different Realtek LAN chipset? Or was that the on board sound elctronics that's using a different set from previous Abit boards? The AI7-G, which I have not seen, has a gigabit controller on it. Not sure
of the flavor. The AI7, has a RealTek 8100C 10/100 NIC, looking at it as I type. according to the manual, it also has the AC97 audio set on it. -- Thomas Geery Network+ certified ftp://geerynet.d2g.com ftp://68.98.180.8 Abit Mirror <----- Cable modem IP This IP is dynamic so it *could* change!... over 120,000 FTP users served! ^^^^^^^ "Tony" <> wrote in message news:CZydnQuqF87qRlKiRVn-... > Not happy to hear this, Tom. Have you done any testing to see if the AI7 has the same kind of high

RealTek has a utility for diagnosing the NIC available on their site or I
have a copy under /drivers/IS7. It may be under IS7 but it is the same NIC so it will work of other RealTek based NIC's. -- Thomas Geery Network+ certified ftp://geerynet.d2g.com ftp://68.98.180.8 Abit Mirror <----- Cable modem IP This IP is dynamic so it *could* change!... over 120,000 FTP users served! ^^^^^^^ "Tony" <> wrote in message news:1OudnfKAsLQKcUyiRVn-... > Well, I may be able to add my observations, as my AI7 system should be > together by mid-week (I hope).
