Why the heck did they discontinue the iSight? Just when I decided to get
one they were no longer available.

Used ones on eBay cost more than new.

Look for a used miniDV Firewire DV camera instead. Five year old used ones
like the Canon ZR series can be had on eBay for a song and will work as
well as or better than an iSight.

The external Firewire iSights contain too many of the wrong metals -
arsenic for one, I think. It put it over the limit in European contries.
