iTunes strangeness

A friend of mine suddenly can't get video on her music videos in iTunes;
she gets sound only. She can get sound and video for movies and TV shows,
and she can get the sound and video for the music videos with QuickTime
Player.

I asked her what versions of Mac OS X and iTunes she's running, an am
waiting for her reply. We live about 700 miles apart, so I can't do any
troubleshooting in person.

Mac OS X 10.6.1 and iTunes 9.0.2, which are the latest versions of each.

I just played around with iTunes 9 and a music video. It has separate
playback preferences for different types of videos and there are some
bad GUI quirks.

The lower-left of the iTunes main window has a row of buttons. If
there's no image there, click the [^] button to show the preview image.
Click the preview image. This opens the video window but it can be
behind the main window. Select it in the 'Windows' menu.
