Hi,

for the past 2 days ive been trying to get my hard drive working and i
can't figure this damn thing out.

Ive got an older fujitsu 10 gig drive im trying to install, I have
been able to format it to 10 gigs on my current pc but when i install
it in the k7s5a it goes to 2 gigs.

Ive tried fdisk/format around 10 times and the same thing each time, 2
gigs.

LBA mode is enabled, and i am choosing 'large disk support' in fdisk.

Fdisk is reporting the drive to be partitioned in FAT32 but only 2
gigs instead of 10.

I have flashed the latest BIOS.... same thing.

Why with todays computers am i still having this trouble? What
causes this problem and how do i fix it?

btw: I do not have the floppy that came with the drive, fujitsu's
website directs me to OnTrack's site and they want $39.99 for the boot
manager disk.... wtf!

Please help, thank you

I don't have your board but first thing comes to mind is FAT16. Check your
BIOS settings for LBA and 32Bit Mode access.

It is a SIS chipset/fujitsu issue. there are still fujitsu drives that
hate the sis chipset. I think I had to set the jumpers to CS instead of
master or slave. either that or just used another drive. I forget and it
has been a long time since I used fujitsu drives
