There's a silly,"Automatically Restart"
option in the system recovery if it finds a fault in WinXP.
Get to Safemode/My computer/Right click/Properties/Advanced/Startup
and Recovery/Settings and disable the auto-restart.
This should let you work in a normal session until you find the
conflict.Usually an incorrect driver so start with the Devices/Device
Manager.
Clear the events log and then re-boot and use the Event log program to
look for delays/failures.See Winxp help with the keyword event
