K7SOM+ and Upgrading

Hi Folks,

I'm typing to you now through a AMD Duron 1400Pro+ (whatever the Pro is
about) soldered to Elite's K7SOM mainboard and I'm wondering about updating
the (Award) bios. I'm not having any system problems and Elite's site warns
about unnecessary bios upgrading when things are going good.

So my question is: What advantage is there to performing a bios update on
this board? Is there any reason to do so if everything is running great?

Thanks.

Many of the bios updates are for supporting newer CPU's and that's not
an issue here (ECS made sure of that!) so if everything's working
leave it alone.

Replace "nospam" with "telis" to reply.

Indeed. Also, they use cheap parts, and you don't know how many
read/write cycle their EPROM can handle.
