K7VTA3 on DDR266 memory

I just got the news verson of the K7VTA3 MB. In side the manual, they
add the exra page it said "WE do not recommend that you use DDR266 memory
module, this is to avoid system instablity."

Does this means this MB can't use DDR266. Can I set my CPU speed to 266 and
use DDR266 memory?
