K7VTA3 occasional hang

Hi,

I have a K7VTA3 machine I would like to use as a webserver. However,
after a long period unattended, this machine seems to hang for no
reason. Resetting it is the only option.

System:
K7VTA3 with 2000+ *under-clocked* for low temperature
512 MB DDR2700
Gainward FX5200 video card
Win XP Pro

Any ideas what might be causing the system hang?

I have a K7VTA3 v3.1 and had no end of crashing with it and a Geforce
2 MX200. I was finally forced to give up and put a Radion 7500 in the
machine and it has been stable every since. My suggestion, go get an
older ATI video card and see how that works. Make sure to install the
lastest Via 4 in 1 drivers as well as ATI drivers. My system runs a
2200+ and 256M of DDR 333 memory.

Thanks for the suggestion - I have a Radeon 9000 in another machine - I
will swap that and see how things go.

No, it wasn't the video card.

The suspect is now the power supply. I have the loan of an Antec
TruePower PSU and the machine has been up for almost a day now. Give it
two more without reboots (hard when I want to install some software!)
and I will think that the problem has been traced.
