Check the motherboard documentation ... but when there are jumpers on the
audio connection pins it usually means that the onboard audio is "on." Go
into the BIOS to enable the onboard audio. If you take the jumpers off you
can then connect front panel audio if your case supports it. Don't take the
jumpers off unless you want to enable front panel audio. Doing so will
disable the onboard audio feature. Again, check the audio feature in your
BIOS.

I've just re-built my stand by system with a K7VTA3 board, 256Mb PC2700 DDR
Ram, 1 Gig AMD Athlon (running at 1333MHz, FSB 133)GeForce MX420 vid. For
some reason I am not getting any sound from the speakers. Checking in Device
Manager the driver for the on board sound is installed. Jumpers on AUDIO1
are as supplied on the board across 5-6 & 9-10.
1) Could this be the problem, if so, what position should the jumpers be
in?
2)If 1 isn't the problem, could anybody throw any light on the matter &
suggest a solution.
Thanx in advance.
