Neighbors son brought over a month old HP Pavilion ZE4400 laptop tonight for
me to look at. His friend spilt a beer on the keyboard, and now it wont
boot.
I would like to remove the keyboard and at least have a look at it. Anyone
know where i might come across a manual that would cover this?

Mike,

You can try going to http://www.hp-at-home.com and search for a copy of the
manual you are seeking. Click on "Get support and troubleshooting" on the
left side of the screen. From there you will be able to enter the computer
model. You may have to search for the manuals as they are not listed on
the product information page. You may have to dig a while but it's a place
to start.

Since the system is only a month old you may ask your neighbor for the
manual. They probably still have it.

HP does not ship technical manuals with it's computers.. only very
basic "user" guides.

Thanks John but as Just Me mentioned, there are no published pdf docs that
cover keyboard removal.
I did talk to HP today, and they were not able to provide me with any such
document.
They said to return it for repair, and that if it was determined that there
was liquid spilled on the keyboard then it would not be covered under
warranty.

Hi Mike,

Funny, I was able to get a PDF manual downloaded for a Pavilion ZT1XXX
series that describes how to remove the keyboard. I have no idea if it's
the same process for your laptop but would be happy to email it to you.
