I'm having a problem with a new KT4 Ultra board. It was a "Returned
to Service" board at newegg.com. It seems to work, but my ATI Radeon
9100 won't work at all. I even get horizontal lines on the screen
when accessing the system bios. I can only boot to safe mode or sytem
just hangs with black screen when trying to boot to desktop. I'm using
WIN98SE. Yet when I put my older 32 meg TNT2 AGP card in, everything
works fine. So I don't think it is a board problem.

I've had lots of problems with Radeon cards and the KT4 motherboard.
You'll probably find that neither is faulty, there's just an
incompatibility between them. Having said that, it's worth trying the
video card in a different motherboard and another Radeon in your board
to find out if either is in fact faulty.

Unfortunately, I tries an NVIDIA TNT2 Pro also, and I can boot to safe
mode, but as soon as I try to boot normal, it will either not load
driver properly, or the board just dies as soon as it tries to go to
the video screen. The board must be bad.

Warning. Don't buy Newegg.com "Returned to Service" boards. I
gambled and lost. Now its RMA time and extra costs.

Yep, I agree. nVidia based cards are usually rock solid with that
motherboard
