Does anybody have a better suggestion to this problem, I include the
exchange I had with Kodak "experts" or am I compelled to buy a new
burner??

Thank you for your question regarding your CD Writer not being
recognized as an EasyShare software supported cd writer.
The Kodak Easyshare software installs the CD Writer drivers from a
number of manufacturer's at the time of software installation. The
list
of supported writers is listed at
http://www.kodak.com/go/easysharesupport. Not all manufacturers make
and models of cd writers are supported. There are no additional
drivers
available for cd writer makes and modes that are not currently on the
list of supported drives.
Please consider working with your computer support team to see if
there
is an alternative CD Burning software that they might use that is
located on your machine that can be used to archive your picture files
to a CD.
We have shared your email with the Easyshare team, for consideration
for
cd writer support in future versions of the Kodak EasyShare software.
