L7S7A2, HD led and CDrom reader led

I have this MB (cheepobios 313) and there is a problem: when i read
from a CD, CDR reader led and HD led always turn on togheter:
a solution for this mistake is possible?
Another problem: i have an Atapi ZIP100 and it seems regularly
installed: bios and XP show the device correctly but if i put a disk in
it and try to read the "Please, insert disk" message appears. Tried both
Microsoft and Iomega drivers. Tried different cables and bios settings.
Any fix?
