Hi..
i'm using this board for 1 years without any problem, but now. every time i
restart my pc, i can't get connect to my modem (3com 3CRWDR100A-72 wireless
router DSL modem).
and the ethernet adapter (IC+ IP100 ) show "Limited or no connectivity" .
i need to unplug the lan cable from the RL-45 port and wait about 20sec,
then plug ut in again to make it work!
i have 3 pc connect to the 3com modem, all obtain the ip address automatic
by the modem ( DHCP server enable in the modem). i also set to fix the ip
address by MAC adress in the modem setting page. the setting are:

PC1 (Asus P4P800Deluxe) 192.168.1.2
PC2 (Abit NF7-S2) 192.168.1.3
PC3 (Abit NF7-M) 192.168.1.4

no problem with other 2 pc. just this Abit NF7-S2.
and when i unplug the lan cable from the RJ-45 port, the Led on the port
still on!! and windows did't show "A network cable is unplug" just show
"Limited or no connectivity" , if i click on it and check the details, it
show the IP Address : 169.254.110.15 Subnet Mask : 255.255.0.0.
Why the led (green and orange) on the RJ-45 port still on when i unplug the
cable? the other 2 onboard lan led just stay off after i unplug the cable.
and why the ip add "automatic" set to 169.254.110.15 ??

is that all mean my onboard lan got problem?
i try to change the lan cable (CAT 5 UTP), reset the router modem, reinstall
the windows, update the driver from ver 4.4.40803.0 to 4.5.50202.0, also
same problem.. and the bios of the mainboard also the latest one.

thanks....

Have you tried a different port on the modem?

I think 169.254.110.15 might be an address Windows gives an adapter when it
can't find a DHCP server.

Off hand it sounds like some software is preventing the NF7 PC from
connecting.

What does your HOSTS file contain.

Have you physically checked the LAN port to see if a ball of fluff or
something has lodged in there.

If you unbind the MAC adapters from the IP on the modem what happens.
Does it make difference if any the other PCs are disconnected.

Headscratcher there...

Good luck.
