I'm looking to upgrade my old Sony 400PS to an LCD display. My only
requirements are 1600x1200 native resolution (or higher) and decent response
time (~25ms I think is ok for a big screens.) I was looking at the Samsung
213T wich is a 21" monitor and the Viewsonic VP201b which is a 20" monitor.
Which one of these is better for general usage and gaming? Any other
suggestions? Or should I just get a nice CRT instead?
TIA

with the prices of monitors and the cost of heating a house these days, i'd go
with the monitor. If you can comfortably lift 50-60 lbs.

why this ? because you have to be careful of the refresh rate with the lcd
flatscreens.

I have two 17" LCD flatscreens 1.) Sony SDM-S71 and 2.) HP-70 both of which
have a 25ms refresh. There are "gaming" LCD's that are faster in ms, and they
cost more. I only use 1280x1024x32 @ 60-75 (60-75hz depends on what program is
reading the parameters) sorry there, but these bad boys were aprox $800 each as
is.

I am thinking about going to a nice 21" crt or larger - next, since my lcd
requirement are fast approaching the cost of the PC box itself.

hope this helps,

Get a NEC 2080UX. One of the best TFT available on the market!
