First I'd consult the manual, or manufacturers support site. I'm sure they
all give recommendations for cleaning.

I use Endust for electronics on both my laptop and desktop LCD. Spray on a
soft cotton cloth wipe gently and followed with a buff with one of those 3M
"High performance cleaning cloths." Leaves a nice streak/static free finish.

In the OWNERS MANUAL for my Dell it lists what to USE and not USE.

Buy a bottle of the stuff sold at eyeglass stores for cleaning
eyeglasses (Sam's and Sears also sell it in their optical departments).

If things are really bad, it's ok to use Windex VERY OCCASIONALLY for
really bad screens. However, frequent use of Windex, which contains
ammonia, can yellow the screen. By "very occasionally", I mean no more
than 2-3 times per year.

Equally important is using a SOFT cloth. Note that many paper towels
are not soft enough (although some are), and will leave "swirl mark"
scratches in the screen. Even some of the "pre moistened towelettes"
sold for cleaning CRT screens are FAR too rough for an LCD screen, which
has a soft and easily scratched surface (vs. glass for a CRT).

How nice, but my owner's manual doesn't mention cleaning.
