Major price drops on Opteron Italy 290.

I have a Tyan Thunder K8WE (S2895) motherboard. I am currently
running dual Italy 270s in it. I noticed that NewEgg.com has dropped
their price for the 290 to $175.00. However, I am still stuck with
the slow memory and ECC. I don't really do anything very complex,
except to watch Blu-ray movies, and I have a 9=8800 GTX video card for
that. $350.00 is still a fair amount of money, and I'm wondering
whether anybody is upgrading because of the new, lower, prices?
